I am Shana Boatswain and I am the owner & creator of Essence of Shay. I am best known as a Natural Hair and Lifestyle Influencer, sisterhood, and self-love crusader. I emerged in the influencer scene on YouTube by documenting my 15-year Loc journey, on which I give advice, share tutorials, and facilitate humorous, yet deep discussions.

I am currently based in Dallas and my passion for creating has not only made my TigerLilee Squad trusts my expertise but has allowed me to land collaborations and press features with household names. With this new route to healthy locs, positivity and maintaining our crowns, the goal of Essence of Shay changed.
